Why can't all PDF conversions be done in the browser? PDF is a fixed-layout format — it stores pages as visual instructions, not as structured text. True DOCX conversion requires understanding the visual layout and reconstructing it, which needs significant server-side processing. Simple text extraction, however, works perfectly in-browser.
