What is Required Run Rate (RRR)?
Required Run Rate = Runs Needed ÷ Overs Remaining
The Required Run Rate tells the batting team exactly how many runs they need to score per over to win the match. It updates ball by ball as the chase progresses.
How to read RRR: An RRR under 6 in T20s is generally comfortable. Between 8–10 is challenging. Above 12 is very difficult. Above 15 is nearly impossible in most conditions.
Current Run Rate (CRR) is how fast the team is currently scoring. When CRR is higher than RRR, the batting team is ahead of the target. When RRR exceeds CRR significantly, pressure builds.
